Aug 25th, 2008 - Today is the first day of the Fall Semster here in the Irving and Coppell areas and also at my school. I was at home all of last week because I was sick and also my school was closed for two days because the teachers were attending some training. Since I was at home for a week, I was not very excited about going to school today and my parents had to force me to get ready to go to school. Since it was the first day, Dad also came to drop me off today and so that made it a bit easier for me to go to school. Once I was at school, it all came back to me and I was all excited to see my friends and Miss Humeira. I hope I have as much fun in the Fall as I did in the Summer. I LOVE SCHOOL. |
Choo Choo Train in Grapevine Mall

Aug 16th, 2008 - Today we went shopping to the Grapevine Mills Mall and everytime we go there, I must stop at either the Choo Choo Train store or at the Lunar Golf Store. Today we stopped at the Choo Choo Train store. The store has undergone some changes, they no longer keep many trains for kids to play. We can get only two trains if my parents leave an id behind. Seems like people may have been taking the trains home and they had to come up with this policy. My dad then let me play in the children's playpen area where there is a slide and a mini-Thomas train. I played there for a few minutes before I got bored and we decided to pursue with more shopping. The Disney store was where we went next. |
How to Use the Rocking and Motion Method to Calm Your Newborn

Most of us dream about having a newborn baby, and then when we do have one, we can’t dream due to not getting to sleep because of the constant crying of our infant.
Most likely, if your baby is crying constantly, he or she is suffering from colic. This is very common in newborn babies from the age of two weeks up to the age of four months. So, what can you possibly do to get a good night’s sleep some time within those four months, if your baby has colic? Good question!
One way to help you and your baby get some much needed relief is by using the rocking and motion technique to alleviate the colic. This has been proven to be a very effective way to help with colic. It’s best to hold the baby on his or her side when rocking him or her as this technique can really help in keeping your baby calm. However, be certain to always support your baby’s head and neck when rocking him or her.
Listed below are some different techniques for using the rocking and motion technique:
1. Method #1 – This consists of the traditional rocking motion that most people use to put their babies to sleep. It’s just a gentle swaying back and forth. It does work for some, but not for all.
2. Method #2 – This is the same as the first method, but with much faster and smaller motions. You should aim to go back and forth about twice a second, or even a little faster.
3. Method #3 – This method is more like vibrating than rocking, and involves holding the baby and shaking it as if were shivering. This can get tiresome, so many parents may choose to hold the baby on their lap and vibrate one of their legs up and down. It’s mainly the upper body of the baby that you want to vibrate, but be certain you support his or her head and neck while doing this.
4. Method #4 - This method is a little more complicated. Begin by holding your left hand out, palm up, elbow bent, and then place your baby on your hand so your hand is under his or her chest and your left forearm or wrist is under his or her crotch. Finally, bring your baby close to your chest and use your other arm to support his or her head and neck while wrapping your right hand around to hold his or her side and bottom. This should allow your baby to be draped over your left hand with his or her arms and legs dangling toward the floor. You can then support the head and neck with your right arm.
Hopefully one of these methods will help your
baby. There are many more techniques
(These are just a few from the e-book), but this should give you a start. Best of luck to you.

Evening at Go Bonkers in Lewisville

Aug 7th, 2008 - My mother had a dental surgery this morning and she was really tired with all the medicines she had taken. My dad decided to take me to Go Bonkers, right here in Lewisville. I had come here a few weeks ago when my cousin Ayush was in town. They have a toddler area on one side of the play area and my dad let me play there. There were may other toddlers like me and we had a lot of fun running down on the slides and throwing the cushions. Also for the first time, I climbed up to a higher level and I think my dad was worried that I may not be able to come down but I did manage to find my way back. We played for about an hour and then came back home. I had a lot of fun. My dad prefers to bring me here on a weekday because its less crowded. We came here once on a weekend and there was no play to stand. |

Aug 3rd, 2008 - We are heading back to Dallas from Oklahoma City and since we were a little free this morning, we decided to go see this store called Pops which was on the historic Route 66 in Oklahoma. We drove north-east to the city and found this nice little store there. Since it was Sunday morning, there was already a crowd early in the morning. A few people had come there for breakfast and the rest were there for .....you guessed it SODA-POP. This store is full of various kinds of sodas. I am not sure how many flavors they had but the entire store was lined up with various soda bottles of different colors, red, blue, purple, oranage, yellow.....It was really nice. Outside the store there is a big soda bottle and it lights up in the night and probably looks very nice. |
We bought a few souveniers, filled up some gas (its cheaper here compared to home) and we headed back home.
