8th June-2006 - Its going to be an exciting time for sports fans around the world (not here in the US) as the World Cup "Football" tournament begins in Germany tomorrow. The preliminary rounds start tomorrow and the finals will be on Sunday July 9th in Berlin. Typically, the rest of the world is on holiday during the World Cup season. My father is all excited about the event and plans to wake up each morning to see the games. He refers to me as the alarm clock. I have to make sure I wake up at 6 everyday now. Well, the NBA Finals between Miami and Dallas also commenced today. Dallas won Game 1. I watched the game for a while but then I fell asleep by the end of the game. Lets hope Game 2 on Sunday is more exciting. |

6-June-2006 (6/6/6) - The popular Iron Maiden song goes 666-The Number of the Beast!! Is today the devil's day? Who knows? Its certainly a special day for those interested in numbers or maybe a bad day for those who believe its the Devil's number. Apparently, some mothers-to-be have even made appointments to have labor induced on June 5, while others mock the superstition with plans to name their cursed little ones Damien (from "The Omen") or Regan (from "The Exorcist"). In fact, Hollywood released the movie "The Omen" today. Oh well, there were more interesting things going on in my life today. Today is my grandparent's 35th wedding anniversary. My grandma is here and my grandpa is in India. We went out for dinner to a Malaysian restaurant called Belachan Grill in Redondo Beach. The food was very good and they had a relaxing dinner. I was a very good boy, I slept for a while and when I woke up my parents had finished their dinner and we were just ready to leave. |

5th June 2006 - My latest hobby is to try and put my fist in my mouth. Most babies my age apparently do this and I certainly love to do this all day long. My parents pull my fist out of my mouth, but I go right back at it. As the colonel would say, "Its finger lickin' good". If I am not tasting my fingers, I like to turn over and over. It was a pretty routine day for me, the one good thing was my father decided to work from home today. I woke up and played all morning and then I had took a bath. My parents bought this nice bath-robe for me. Click the "Read More" below to see me in my bath robe. |

June 4th, 2006 - Today my grandmother's sister, her husband and son came to visit us. They are visting Los Angeles right now. They live in Denver Colorado. They came home around 1 in the afternoon and we sat and chatted for a while. After that we had a nice Konkan (read fish...) lunch. My grandmother had made "Bangda Phanna Upkari" and "Pomfret Ghashi" for the main course along with some other typical Konkani fare. They brought me a gift too. Its a nice cute outfit which includes a onesie, trousers and a shirt. I will put a picture of the outfit once its washed. Can't look forward to wearing it. Ever since I was born, my house has been full of guests and I have family still visiting. I really like it when people come home to visit (I get all the attention, and I love it) |
First Trip to Little India, Artesia Los Angeles

June 3rd 2006 - India, is the great land from where my parents are and they took me to Little India which is in the city of Artesia. Artesia is about 30 minutes away from where we live. I went to Artesia with my parents and my grandparents. We first went to 99 Ranch Market , an Asian Grocery store, to buy some fish and vegetables. My grandma's sister and her husband are coming over for lunch and we wanted to make some nice Indian "Bandgda Phaana Upkari". Ranch 99 is a probably a great store to buy fish as they have a lot of fish from Asia. My mother bought some mackerel and pomfret. We also bought some vegetables here. All in all, my mother was very happy with all the stuff we got here. After shopping, we crossed the street and went over to the India Restaurant. It was a really hot day and the temperature was close to 95 degrees and walking outside was not very pleasurable. We had a simple buffet at the restaurant and then headed back home. I did not spend much time at the Indian stores in this visit. Next time around, I will visit all the other shops. |
