17th May 2006 - Viva Las Vegas!! My mother's sister, her husband and her two kids are visiting from India and they wanted to see Vegas before they returned to India so all of us went for a 3-day vacation to Las Vegas. My mother, grandparents and I took a flight to Las Vegas and my father drove to Vegas with them. That was my first flight ever and I had a great time. It was Southwest flight 1156, fairly short about 50 minutes. I was a good baby, did not cry at all. Once we reached Vegas, we took a shuttle and went to the Monte Carlo Casino and Hotel. It was a pretty nice hotel as you can see in the picture. |
It was really hot in Vegas, over 100 F. Sitting in the room with the air conditioning was really nice. We waited in the hotel until my dad got into Vegas. My dad reached Vegas at around 3 PM and we went downstairs for lunch. I had my milk while they enjoyed some good food. After lunch, I went back to my room while my some of them went gambling. Apparently, I am too small to gamble !!!
Once it got dark and a little cooler, we went out for a walk to see some of the other casinos. We went and saw the following shows which are free for everyone to watch.
- The Fountains at the Bellagio - this is a show where the fountains play to some classical music and it was beautiful to watch.
- The Volcano at the Mirage - At the top of each hour, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, there is a volcano show at the Mirage. The show uses smoke, fire and water to create a spectacular stream of molten lava. The volcano, situated on three water-covered acres, is 54 feet high and circulates 119,000 gallons of water per minute.
- Caesars Palace - On the way back, we went to the Caesars Palace hotel and Casino. It was a really cooll hotel, really big and had these great stores. I had my dinner here while the rest of them rested. It was a really long day.
Finally, we went back to my room and I went off to sleep while the rest of party went down to the casino. My father stayed back with me. So far, this has been the most exciting day of my life.
