October 21, 2006 - Today is Diwali, or Deepawali, one the most important festivals for Hindus. Diwali is also known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolises the victory of good over evil, and lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind.  This is my first Diwali, so it was a special day at home. We woke up early and I was given the traditional Diwali bath. My parents applied some oil all over me and gave me a nice warm water bath. I felt really good. After that, they dressed me in some traditional Indian clothes. I think I looked good in it.

We still had a little bit of shopping to do for our India trip and so we went to the Citadel Outlet Mall in the city of Commerce. Its one of the most family friendly toilets that my parents have been too. There are at least 2 or 3 family rooms for babies. The toilets are nice and spacious and generall well-maintained.

After Citadel, we drove to Babies-R-Us in Torrance to buy a few things. My parents bought me a new Umbrella stroller as a Diwali gift. Since we are going to India, we needed a light stroller that we can carry onto a plane, train and bus. The Jeep   Wrangler All-Weather Umbrella stroller seemed like the best choice. There were better ones that seemed to have more utility but they did not seem to be easy for air travel.

I was so excited to be outside, that I hardly slept all day.

All in all, it was a nice first Diwali. I came back home, had my dinner and went to bed..
