Dinner at the Grapevine Mills Mall

Image

Jan 22nd, 2008 - One of my father's good friends Pradeep Uncle (Paaji) is also in Dallas and wanted to meet us for dinner. We went to the Grapevine Mills Mall which is one of the biggest malls in Texas (everythings big in Texas). The mall is really huge and I had a lot of room to run around and have fun. We walked around the mall and went to the food court for dinner. There was a big carousel near the Food Court and Pradeep Uncle took me for a spin on the carousel. I had great fun at the mall. I ran all around and even went to the ladies room (how am I to know I was not supposed to be in there). I had some Mango milk shake for the first time in my life and I really liked it.

At the end the night, I was really tired and fell asleep in the car.

Apartment Hunting in Dallas

Jan 21st, 2008 - We are in Dallas to look for an apartment this week. My parents had decided to look for an apartment in the Irving area as it had an Indian community there. The weather was cold and gloomy so I was all bundled up in warm clothes. We started every morning and visited 6-7 properties every day. I loved go to these apartments as I got the opportunity to run around in an empty house with no gates. My first hamla was on the kitchen. I pulled the oven doors, turned the knobs, opened the fridge door. I think were parents were worried that their application would be rejected because of me. !!! My parents have narrowed it down to 2-3 places. They should choose something soon.

Fun at the Aspen Hotel

Jan 20th, 2008 - We are staying at the Aspen Hotel in Irving. They are renovating the hotel so its quite empty and quiet. We have a nice room with a fridge and I like going to the fridge and pulling things out of the fridge. They have a long hallway and I love running down the hallway. I run down the hallway and press the elevator buttons. When I go into the elevator, I tell me dad "Lai" and he presses the button to go down. Once I am down, I say Hello to the Front desk and all the guests who are in the lobby. They give me a smile too. How nice.

I had something very nice to eat here, it was the Texas Waffle. It was a waffle in the shape of Texas. Very nice.

Dallas Cowboy?

Jan 19th, 2008 -  Jan 19th - As you may all know, we are relocating to Dallas sometime at the end of February and we decided to go to Dallas to look for an apartment. My parents were dreading this journey because they knew that its going to be hard to make me sit in one place for the entire duration of the flight. We reached the airport early and my father entertained me by making me run around the airport. I was playing with the payphones and some of the advertising boards.

Once we got into the plane, I was in a great mood. I wanted to run around the plane. Luckily for my parents, the flight was empty and I was able to run around the back on the plane. They had also bought a portable DVD player to entertain me and I watched Barney for a little while too. Somehow 3 hours went by and we arrived in Dallas.

We rented a car and went to our hotel. It was a nice hotel and we had a big bed. There was a fridge and a small space under the kitchen sink. I loved getting in there and sitting there.
It was very cold in Dallas and my parents had to get me nice warm clothes. This trip is going to  be a lot of fun.

Happy Birthday Amma

Jan 17th, 2008  - Today is my mother's birthday and birthdays mean fun at home and we will be getting some cake too. I gave my mother a birthday card and she gave me some "Godi Ummas" for the card. My father also got her a birthday card and some gifts. Since it was her birthday, my father got some Sushi for lunch (my mother likes to eat Sushi).

In the evening it was time to cut the cake. My father had got a nice chocolate cake and my mother and I cut the cake together. As usual, I have become a "Haste Sondeel" and had to poke my nose into the cake. The cake was good. What a nice fun day.
