Independance Day Weekend
 | July 1st, 2006 - Independance Day weekend is finally here. My parents don't plan to leave town this weekend. We plan to spend it in LA itself. Today was a slow day. We spent the day in Marina Del Rey. We went to the Lloyd Taber Library, CostCo and the Albertsons grocery store. My father wanted to watch the soccer games on TV. He was very disappointed when France defeated Brazil. Tomorrow we go to the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, one of the biggest malls in Los Angeles. |

Happy Anniversary to my Parents
 | Aug 22, 2006 - It was three years ago that my parents got engaged in Bangalore. I am sure life has changed a lot for them since that day especially with me being there now. My uncle Rajesh was still at home and so my mom, uncle and I went to the Singapore Express restaurant in Marina Del Rey for lunch. It was a nice day for a walk so we walked to the restaurant. They ordered Chicken Sambhal and Singapore Noodles. Overall, I think my uncle enjoyed the food there. In the evening when my father came home, we went to the Elephant Bar Restaurant for dinner. We had a good time there. I tried by keep awake but alas, I feel asleep. |
Another Uncle's Visit
 | Aug 21, 2006 - Today my Mom's cousin Rajesh visited us. He lives in New Jersey but is studyting in Michigan. He was here for a couple of days on some business. We had a good time during his stay here. We went to the Marina, had a nice long walk, coffee, ice-cream etc. I really enjoyed the cool breeze. I went an hour over my dinner time but did not complain. We listened to some Indian music all day long too. I had a good time with his visit as it meant someone other than my parents was there to play with me. He will be here tomorrow as well. Tomorrow is my parent's engagement anniversary. |
Living in a Box
 | 20th Aug, 2006 - I think I must have mentioned that we are moving to a new apartment at the end of the month and so my parents have started packing their stuff which means, lots of boxes in the house. Everywhere I roll its boxes so I have a good time kicking them. IMHO, The hollow ones make the best noise. We are almost half done with the packing this weekend. My uncle Rajesh is visiting us from New Jersey tomorrow. I will be meeting him for the first time. My mother has cooked some nice Bhindi Masala today. In the evening, we went out for a walk to the Marina. Its the last few days here for us and then we will move to our new apartment. |
