Mar 4th, 2012 - On Friday it was Dr Suess's birthday and they released a movie based on his book, The Lorax, the same weekend. I was talking about it all week and so my parents planned a surprise trip for us to go and see the movie today. We have an AMC Fork and Screen movie theatre near our house so we can watch the movie and have lunch at the same time. My parents had already booked the tickets for us the previous day. We reached the theatre a few minutes before the show began. I ordered the kids nuggets meal, my dad ordered some shrimp tacos and my mom tried some Thai Chicken nuggets. The movie was about a boy called Ted and how he meets a guy called Once-ler and how he helps to bring back trees to his city. My dad told me that the voice of Ted was that of Zac Efron (I once brought a book about him from the library). I liked the movie and laughed a few times. I found one scene funny when the Lorax says "Is that a woman?" We enjoyed our lunch and the movie and I was happy my parents brought me to see the show.

Feb 12th, 2012 - Today was the first Sunday since the football season ended so my Dad was a bit confused as to what he should do on a Sunday afternoon. He was doing some work on his computer and I decided to do some painting. My art today is called "The Hawaiian Luau". Its a very abstract piece where the painting looks like the map of the USA, but I call it the Hawaiian Luau. Someday you will get it. Hope you like it.

Feb 11, 2012 - Every year, Lowes does a special project during the weekend just before Valentine's Day and this was no different. Our project today was a "Valentine Card Creator". It was a fairly simple project where we built a box that can be closed or left partially open and become a board for creating Valentine's day card. I also loved this project because it had a lot of stickers and some Valentine's Day cards. The ladies who run the event for us were very nice and gave us some candy and stickers. We finished the project and I also purchased a Lowes Build and Grow young builder's tooklit which came with a small hammer, an apron and some goggles. Maybe I will post a picture of that soon. Besides that I had a normal weekend day. We did a little shopping and played at home. Last few days before ....not Valentine's Day but the day after...

101st Day at School

Feb 6, 2012 - Today is another milestone in our school year. It was the 101st day at school and so our school had the theme of the 101 Dalmations. Over the weekend, my parents and I prepared my Dalmations costume. It was quite hard to find a long white full-sleeve shirt in the stores but we managed to find a good half-sleeve shirt at one of the stores. My dad had the bright idea (turned out to be not so bright in the end) of trying to iron on some patches on the shirt but that did not go off very well, so we went about the old fashioned way...Paint!!. We went to the local Michael's store and bought some black paint and painted spots on the shirt. It dried overnight and we had a nice shirt ready to go. My parents came to the school to see the 101 Dalmations Parade where we walk around the school and the kids from the higher grades cheered us on. After we did 2 rounds around the school, we all went to the cafeteria to take some pictures. We had also made some dog ears in school on Friday so we looked really cute. My mom put a little black dot over my nose to help with the cute factor. My parents came to watch the parade and take pictures and I was really happy they did. 100 days of school, I have so many more to go.
100th Day at School

Feb 3, 2012 - 100 days of school. Today was the 100th day of school in my Kindergarten year. Its a big number but we made it this far or should say, our teacher made it this far. To celebrate our 100th day, we were giving a simple homework of bringing 100 items in a sandwich bag to school. It could be anything like paper clips, stickers, buttons, coins etc. I collected 4 things in sets of 25 and that was my homework. It was fun counting to 100. We also had a small party in our school to celebrate the milestone. We had some cookies, crackers, chips and other things. 100 days at school is pretty cool. I have had a good time so far and I love going to school. I like my friends and teachers and all the activities we do at school. I like being the teacher's helper and participating in "Where in the world is Team Hatrick?" Another few months and I will be in 1st grade.
Gogo The Dino at Lowes Build and Grow

Jan 28, 2012 - Today is a special day (yes its a Lowes Build and Grow Day as well) but its also my parent's wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary Mommy and Daddy. Now that its out of the way, lets get back to my Build and Grow. Today is the 2nd BAG day for 2012 and we are building a dinosaur. Since my parents had already registered my name, it was easy for me to get my kit. Today's kit was a lot of fun because it was easy to build and there were a lot of stickers that we had to stick. I had a choice between making a real dinosaur or a cartoon dino. I preferred to make a cartoon dino because he is less scary. I am not scared but there were smaller kids so that's why. The cartoon dino had a lot of green and black spots around him and it took us a while to stick those stickers. I gave my dino the name "Gogo the Dino" and also told my dad that he had chicken pox. When we came out, we found that our car had a flat tire. The AAA guy came and fixed it. In the evening, we had a party at my friend Riya's house where I met my preschool friends Manav, Neerali and Siddharth too. We cut a cake to celebrate my parent's anniversary. It was a fun day.
