Hi Vijay Mama
Oct 7th, 2008 - Today Vijay Mama visited us from Washington DC. He had come to Dallas on work for a couple of days and decided to stay with us tonight. He came home in his Chevy car in the evening. I felt comfortable with him and started my chitter chatter with him. My mother had made some good food, Vegetable Biryani and Bhindi Bhaji were the two main items. We ate dinner and my parents were chatting with him, when I was not interrupting. He brought me Doodle and a nice Shirt as gifts too. My parents were talking to him and I did not sleep. It was finally midnight by the time we all went to sleep. Thanks for coming by Vijay Mama. It was nice to meet you. We will come and see you sometime soon. |
Manav's Birthday Party
Oct 5th, 2008 - Today was my classmate Manav's birthday party. He turned 3 a couple of days ago. The party was at the Grapevine Springs Park in Coppell. The party started at around 10:30 in the morning and many of the guests were there by the time we arrived. I wished Manav a very happy birthday. My other friends, Riya, Sahili, Amey were there too. We started off on a small train ride and then did some bowling. I won a small globe as a prize. After some fun and games, we cut the birthday cake. It was a nice big cake in the shape of a circus tent. There was a circus theme to the party which was nice. After the cake ceremony, Stringhini the clown did some magic tricks and entertained us. It was fun, all of us sat and enjoyed his show. After the show, we ate some lunch which consisted of some nachos and hot-dogs. I also had my first snow cone. Thanks for a great party Manav. I had a great time. |
Lets go Mail Check
Oct 3rd, 2008 -One of the favorite things for me is togo and check the mail. When my dad gets home, I often tell him "Lets go Mail Check". My dad and I go for a long walk across the apartment complex to the mailbox. Along the way, I get to see all my favorite cars from the Honda,Toyots, Fords and Chevys. There are a few favorites of mine, the red GMC, the white Dodge and the Yellow Mustang. Once we pick the mail, I insist on carrying the mail back myself. Although, I struggle and drop the mail, my dad allows me to bring the mail back home. Along the way, I say Hi to all the people I meet. I usually get to meet a couple of doggies too. |
Fun at Cimarron Trail Park
Oct 1st, 2008 -The summer here in Dallas gets really hot and my parents have not been taking me to the park for the last few months. With Fall setting in, the evenings are gettinga little cooler and we are going to the parks again. Today we went to the Cimarron Trail Park in Valley Ranch. Its a nice big park and there are many things for me to play with there. I first played in the toddler section of the park and then went to the grown up section. In general, I am very careful when climbing on things and did not want to climb up the hard way. My mother held my hand and encouraged me to climb. After two turns, I realized that its not that hard and started climbing on my own. I should be able to come to this park for the next few weeks and then it may start getting a little cold. |
Trip to The Alamo in San Antonio
Dec 26th,  2008 - One of the most famous US landmarks is the Alamo in San Antonio. It was the place where the Battle of the Alamo was fought here. Since it was a long weekend, the Alamo was pretty crowded and it took us about 30 minutes to get in and see the insides of the Alamo. After that we spent some time in the garden around the Alamo before returning to our hotel room. |

Trip to San Antonio Riverwalk
Dec 26th,  2008 - We decided to go to San Antonio and see the Alamo and the Riverwalk area. We left home early in the morning hoping to get to San Antonio a little after lunch time. It took us about 5 hours to get to San Antonio and for the most part it was a smooth drive. We got to the hotel, took a brief break and decided to go to see the Riverwalk and the Alamo which were very close to our hotel. The weather was very pleasant and we were able to roam around without any warm clothing. We walked around the Riverwalk area which was very crowded. We stopped at the Texas Cafe for a quick bite where we had some nice Mushroom Fritters and Mac & Cheese before we headed to the Alamo. After we went and saw the Alamo, we went back to the hotel room to freshen up. We returned to the Riverwalk after sunset and the place was even more crowded. Since it was a holiday weekend and a Friday night, there was virtually no space to move. Some of the restaurants have 2-3 hour waits. We managed to find a place where we could grab a bit before we headed home. We could not ride the boat because the wait time was over 2 hours. Can you imagine me standing in line for 2 hours. If you can get 2 minutes from me, that would be an achievement. Next time we will come at a quieter time. Ayush Anna will be coming from Des Moines tomorrow so we will return back. |
