Happy 18th Birthday
15th Aug, 2007 - I turn 18 today. 18 months, not years. I am sure my parents are waiting for me to turn 18 years old. :-( The day started off with a visit to Dr Woo's clinic. I had my checkup done and the doctor said I was doing fine. I am 34 inches tall and weigh almost 26 pounds. He said I am tall for my age and average weight. I thought it was all over but then Nurse Stacy walked in with a box. That box always worries me. Before I knew it, I got two shots. She is good at giving shots and I am good at taking them like a man. I flinched but did not cry this time. Pretty cool huh!! She put some nice boy-bandaids on me and we went home. |
In the afternoon, my mother baked a cake for me. She always bakes a cake for me on every occaision. My mother loves to bake and cook and my father and I love to eat her cooking. In the evening, we cut the cake once my father returned from work and then we went out to dinner.
Trip to Toys 'R Us
12th Aug, 2007 - Time for new toys....well thats what I thought when we entered Toys 'R Us, but my mother wanted to buy books for me. She thinks reading is a good habit and I should get started early but all I see when I see books is, how do I shred them. We searched for the books and finally my mother picked up a couple of books and a few small things for me and left. On the way out, I sat on the Spiderman ride. There was this big man who came and sat on the donkey ride next to me. It looked silly to see a grown man sitting on a children's ride.....Oh well...guess we are all little children at heart.... |
KASC Summer Picnic 2007
11th Aug, 2007 - I am a Konkani by birth and my parents are Konkani's too. We are part of the local Konkani Association of South California. Every year, they organize a summer picnic and this year, the picnic was in San Diego. This gave us Angelinos a chance to mingle with fellow members from San Diego. We started off early and drove to San Diego. My mother drove for half the distance and my father drove for the rest. I was a good baby for most of the journey and did not cry much in the car. |
The drive should normally take us about 2-2 1/2 hours, but the traffic was so bad that it took us nearly 3.5 hours. My parents were surprised that I sat quietly. The picnic was at a location called Mission Bay which seems to be a popular picnic spot. The place was very crowded with lots of families having Barbeques etc. We managed to locate the KASC spot and then the fun began for me. My father first took me to the water. It was the first time that I was on a beach and my father was worried that I may be a little afraid. How wrong he was!! I immediately jumped into the water and started splashing the water. I was rolling in the sand and I really enjoyed it. After a while it was time for lunch.
Goodbye Ramesh Uncle
7th Aug 2007 - One of my father's very good friend, Ramesh Uncle is leaving LA. He lives in Denver and travels to LA for work but this is his last week here. He is also Victor's father. He starts a new job in LA next week and so we all went to dinner with him to the Belacn Grill, a Malaysian restaurant in Redondo Beach. My parents like this place a lot and we tend to go there once in a while. |
I was restless from the start at the restaurant and wanted freedom from my high-chair. I kpt struggling in the chair but somehow my parents managed to pacify me and keep me put handing me straws, food etc. Eventually, I could not take it any more and had to be taken out of the high chair. I was free to run around the restaurant. There was a nice fish tank at the entrance and it seemed to fascinate me. There was a little girl in the restaurant and she played with me for a while too. Eventually my parents managed to finish their dinner and we went home. I think my parents will not be going out for dinner for a long time, unless its a special occaision.
Good Luck Ramesh Uncle!! We will miss you.
Taking my Clothes off
3rd Aug, 2007 - This seems to be a new phase in my life. I just love to take my clothes off and run around the house in my diapers. I suppose its due to the summer heat or maybe all children go through this phase in life. It would embarassing if this phase came later in life. This means, anything that can be pulled down or taken off are no longer part of my wardrobe. Anything that has zips is also off. This means, I am back to the onesies which are little difficult for me to unbutton. I have become quite adept at taking any T-shirts off. My parents are hoping that I do not figure out how to remove the onesie. |
