Happy Birthday Mamamma
28th Oct, 2006 - Today is my Grandmother's (Mamamma) birthday. It also my Aunt Nutan's birthday too. Both of them are in Mumbai. We called them and wished them. I babbled a little on the phone and conveyed my wishes too. My grandmother spoke to me, sangs some songs to me and told me how excited she was that I was coming to see her in a few days. We are very close to our India trip and there is still some last minute shopping to be done, not a lot, just a few things. We went to the WestField Mall in Culver City and managed to find all the things we wanted. We then had dinner at my parents favorite Thai Restaurant, Thai Klang Dong. They always give me a fortune cookie, and mine was perfect. It said "A pleasant journey to places far away".........How did they know? |
Drinking on my own
24th Oct, 2006 - I have started drinking on my own now. My parents had to hold the bottle for me, but I have learnt to hold the bottle myself and drink milk on my own. I like doing it as I can drink at my own pace and if I find something interesting to do, I can drop the bottle and move on to the other thing. Once my parents see me playing with the toy, they give the botlt back to me. I have noticed that this way, I am able to drink the milk to the last drop. At the end of my feed, my parents give me a big hug and I give them a big burp in return. |
I am pretty hungry baby and when I am hungry I let them know. I will start groaning and then the strength and frequency of the groans gets louder and louder till I get my bottle. Sometimes, when I see the bottle or hear the sound of the milk in the bottle, I get really excited.
Still love rolling under the bed
23rd Oct 2006 - Ever since I have started rolling, I love to roll under the furniture at home, be it the futon, chairs, beds or my own crib. I love to roll under them and then play around for long time. As long as I am not hurting myself, my parents let me play there as it seems to be onwway to keep my quiet and distracted. we will never know why I get so fascinated by the table, but I do. My First Diwali
October 21, 2006 - Today is Diwali, or Deepawali, one the most important festivals for Hindus. Diwali is also known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolises the victory of good over evil, and lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind. This is my first Diwali, so it was a special day at home. We woke up early and I was given the traditional Diwali bath. My parents applied some oil all over me and gave me a nice warm water bath. I felt really good. After that, they dressed me in some traditional Indian clothes. I think I looked good in it. We still had a little bit of shopping to do for our India trip and so we went to the Citadel Outlet Mall in the city of Commerce. Its one of the most family friendly toilets that my parents have been too. There are at least 2 or 3 family rooms for babies. The toilets are nice and spacious and generall well-maintained. |
Holy Sit!!!
Oct 18th, 2006 -It was 10:50 AM and I finally managed to sit up by myself. It was a bit of a struggle with my leges crossed underneath me, but I finally managed to sit by myself. Its not perfect, but I think it was a good start. My mother was watching me struggle through it and took some pictures so that the magical moment was captured.
