Lesson 5 at Aquakids Swimming School
| Feb 13th, 2010 -Its my 5th lesson today at the Aquakids swimming school and I am still not very happy going into the water. My dad tricked me today and told me we are going to the library and took me to Aquakids instead. Today they decided to put me in the hands of a new teacher and so they delayed my class by 30 minutes. My dad and I played with these big rubber jigsaw puzzle pieces and we built a big square box with it. My new teacher's name was Ms Mandy and for some reason she made me feel very comfortable in the water and I did not cry at all today. She and I moved around the water and she ma me blow bubbles in the water many times. I stood on the island and I enjoyed the class a lot more than before. For the 1st time, you can see a smile on my face at the pool. I also met my friend Urvi here. She will be coming to my birthday tomorrow. After this we go to the NBA All Star Jam at the Dallas Convention Center. |
Record Snowfall in Dallas Fort Worth
| Feb 12th, 2010 - It kept snowing last evening and into the night which meant record snow for the Dallas Area. I think it snowed about 8+ inches according to the TV. With so much snow, it meant schools were closed and my dad also was working from home. My dad took a break from work in the middle of the day and we went out into the snow again to have some fun and maybe make a snowman. Well, we could not get the snowman gong but I still had a lot of fun playing in the snow. I was making snow balls and throwing it at the cars, trees and even some kids in the neighborhood. What a fun day!! It will probably melt tomorrow when the sun comes out. |

Huge Snowfall in Dallas Fort Worth
| Feb 11th, 2010 -It gets cold in Dallas during the winter but does not snow much. In fact, last yea we did not get any snow at all. Well, this year is different, we have got 3 snow falls (one during Christmas) and this is the 4th one. Well, it was a hue event for Dallas, it snowed about 6 inches already and it was the most snow ever in the Dallas area. The entire landscape outside was white and it was very beautiful. In the evening, the snow stopped for a little while and my dad let me play outside in the snow. I really enjoyed it and I was leaving my foot prints and hand prints in the snow. My dad let me play for a while and then pulled me in before I got some frost bite. There is more snow on its way tonight. Maybe we will get a record snow fall tonight. |

Lunch at Tokyo One in Addison
| Feb 19th, 2010 - My Sachin uncle is visiting Dallas and one of the things he likes to eat is Sushi (well I don't know what it is) but apparently he likes it. One of my dad's friend recommended this restaurant in Addision called Tokyo One where they have a buffet that has a large Sushi selection. They had a large selection of food which included sushi, salads, fried vegetables, chicken and of course desserts. My parents got me some fried potatoes and chicken teriyaki. They also had chopsticks and everyone was eating with them, so I had to try. I managed to eat some food with it (though it was not the right way). At the end of the meal, I had lots of desserts, chocolate cake, flan and ice-cream. It was a lot of food and I ate a lot. When we left, the lady who owns the restaurant gave me a lollipop. We then went to Plano to buy some things. |
My 4th Birthday Party at Pump It Up Coppell
| Feb 15th, 2010 - Another year has gone by and I have now completed 4 exciting years of my life. We had the big party yesterday so today seemed like a bit of a let down for me, but there were still some exciting things in store for me at school which I was looking forward to.
I went to school all excited and it was a great day. All my friends sang "Happy Birthday to Me....Happy Birthday to Me....Happy Birthday..Dear Nikhil.....". My teacher read a little bit about my first 4 years to all the students in the classroom. We also got a lot of sweets and Valentine's Day cards too. I was on a sugar high....which is not too good for my mother. Since it was my birthday, my mother made some of my favorite things and in the evening my parents took me out to Toys R Us to buy me a birthday present from my Mamamma. They got me a nice big piano. We ate dinner at Chaat Cafe and I came home all excited, played with the piano and fell fast asleep. Looking forward to my 5th year of life. |
Spring Haricut, Chappals and Shorts
| March 4th, 2010 - March is already here and the weather here in Dallas has started to warm up. For the past few days we have had 60 degree+ weather and that means that my shorts, sandals and half-sleeve Tees are out. We had a long and cold winter by Dallas standards and this warmth is good as it means I can ride my bike in the evenings. To celebrate the return of the heat, my parents also took me to my haircut session at Kiddoos and got me a real short hair cut. In a few days, it will be time to move the clocks forward for Daylight Savings Time which means even more sunshine. Yahoo!!! |
