Would you be my Flat Stanley Buddy?
| December 14th, 2012 - Hi everyone. My name is Nikhil, I am 6 years old and live in Dallas in the United States. My parents recently got me a book about this young boy called "Flat Stanley". Flat Stanley was a normal boy just like me but one day, a board fell on him and he became flat. Yes, flat as a pancake (ooh, I love pancakes and syrup). While life has been difficult for Stanley since turning flat, its also been very adventurous too. Because he is flat, he can fold and mailing himself to any part of the world. Stanley has been to China, Japan, Egypt, Canada, Mexico and even to the White House. I have never been to any of these places except the White House. Sometimes, I wish I could be Flat Stanley. In my Flat Stanley book collection there was a little cut out of Stanley that I can mail to other kids around the world and have Stanley travel to other countries. So here is my idea and I hope you would like to join me in helping Stanley travel the world. Here is how it will work.
Its that simple. Through this adventure, I will get to know about the world, make some friends and hopefully someday I may actually meet you. |
A Post It Notes Flip StoryBook
| October 12th, 2012 - One of my favorite things to do is write things down especially on those colorful Post-It Notes. My dad was nice enough to get me a whole bunch of these notes from Costco and now I have these notes stuck all over the house. Today I wrote my first Post It's based flip story book. Its a small but sweet story about a girl called Jada. You can see it in the pictures but in case you have a hard time reading, here is what it says Jada and the Jade - A jade was in a store and a girl names Jada bought it. - She liked it. - She wore it wherever she went. - She even wore it to school. The End! Hope you liked my little story. |
Logic Links Puzzle
| July 6th, 2012 - My parents got me a new puzzle this week. Its called Logic Links. The box has about 165 puzzles and has these little dots of different colors like Red, White, Blue, Green, Yellow etc. For each puzzle, I need to arrange the dots in a certain pattern based on the clues and in most cases there is only one right answer. The entire set has 165 puzzles and they have 7 levels of difficulty. So far I am only on level 1 and have completed 36 puzzles. My parents and I will work on these puzzles through the summer. |

My artwork at Sprouts in Coppell
| May 27th, 2012 - We have art class at school with Ms Kitts and we paint during that class. A few weeks ago, I painted something I called "Flowers Holding Hands" in class and it was selected as one of the paintings of the month. We have a local grocery store in Coppell called Sprouts. Every month, they display art work from one of the local Coppell ISD schools. In May, they showed artwork from my school, Mockingbird elementary and my painting was selected. My parents took me to the store today to see the painting and I was really happy to see my artwork. |
Career Day at School
| May 22nd, 2012 - Today was Career Day at school and so we all came dressed in clothes we would wear to our work. I was contemplating between becoming a teacher, a Paleontologist or a chef. Since I like to cook at home with my mother, I decided to go as a chef. Everyone in my class came dressed as what they want to be. You can see that most of them wanted to either be a teacher or a sports person. I like Career Day at school because it was like Halloween but not as scary. Too bad we did not get any candy Nico - Ninja Madeline - Paleontologist Swayam - Soccer Star Aromi - Teacher Tanvi - Teacher Nikhil - Chef or Paleontologist Kameron - Football Star Joshua - Baseball Star Nicole - Dentist Anu - Soccer Star Sam - Football Star Emma - Teacher Nigama - Teacher Michelle - Artist Blake - Football Star Saundhi - Teacher Connor - Baseball Star |
